Doctor Strange

So a new Avenger was added in the MCU. Doctor Strange has a good story. Though it misses the amount of action that a fan may expect in the Marvel movies, it still has a promising future. Without doubt he is surely to be cast in Avengers: Infinity War, the story also promises a future in it's solo franchise. But that might be probably after the release of Infinity War I & II in May, 2018 and 2019. Benedict Cumberbatch is always great in the role of Dr. Stephen Strange, a.k.a. Doctor Strange. The supporting cast has also played their part in a nice way. Among them should be mentioned Chiwetel Ejiofor as Mordo, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One and not to forget Mads Mikkelsen as Kaecilius. Rachel McAdams as Dr. Christine Palmer and Benedict Wong as Wong has really been misused.

The story revolves around Dr. Stephen Strange, a brilliant neurosurgeon. He is successful and is proud of himself. He is full of ego and thinks that there are certain that can only be done by him. He meets with an horrible accident and he looses his stability in his hands forever. He sees that no western treatment can cure him. So he head east to Katmandu, Nepal to a place called Kamar-Taj. He gets the information of this place from a person named Pangborn,  who was partially paralysed and came to him from treatment few years back. I Kamar-Taj he meets the Ancient One. At first she refuses to teach him because of his ego and because of the fear that he will also turn like Kaecilius. But on Mordo's persuasion she teaches him about the knowledge on mystic arts. Strange begins his training and learns a lot about this world in a few months. He reads the ancient books of the library now guarded by Wong. Even one day he bends time using the Eye of Agamotto and also reads the stolen pages of Kaecilius. Mordo and Wong warns him not to play against the laws of Nature. On asking them, he learns that the world is protected from other universes or dimensions by them and that there are three buildings called Sanctums that protects the Earth from Dormammu of the Dark Dimension. These three Sanctums were situated in New York, London and Hong-Kong and they were protected by masters. And that there were doors to reach these sanctums from Kamr-Taj. While being told this, the London Sanctum was attacked by Kaecilius. Strange reaches there and finds that the master of the Sanctum is attacked and killed by Kaecilius. He is attacked by Kaelcilius and his two followers. While fighting, the mystical Cloak of Levitation chooses him and saves him in some instances. He manages to capture Kaecilius, but it attacked and injured by one of his followers. He enters his astral form and saves himself with the help of Dr. Palmer by reaching the hospital he worked in by the portal. There he kills Kaecilius' follower in the astral form. He is able to hold Kaecilius off till the arrival of Mordo and The Ancient One. Strange and Mordo's brain is fiddled by Kaecilius when he tells them that The Ancient One has drawn power from The Dark Dimension to live for such a long time. Kaecilius wounds The Ancient One and Strange takes her to the hospital but she leaves her body and Strange speaks to her in the astral form. She then leaves and dies. Then they all reach Hong Kong where Strange uses the power from the Eye of Agamotto to trap Dormammu in a time loop and makes a deal with him to take away his followers and forget about Earth forever. Kaecilius is then taken from Earth. After the revealation of The Ancient One's secret, Mordo leaves this path.
On the first end-credit scene we see Thor and Strange discussing about Odin and Strange promises to help Thor to find Odin. In the second one, we see Pangborn's power being seized by Mordo as he believes that there were too many sorcerers on Earth. This probably promises to take the Doctor Strange  franchise forward. And the one with Thor ensures the presence of Doctor Strange in Avengers: Infinity War.
